Finally, the Panthers get a win

It’s about time. The Panthers have finally found a way to put a win on the board by defeating the Washington Redskins 20-17 today in front of a sold out crowd at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

While there were a few problems on offense today (especially in the running game and with ball security), the Panthers were able to play well enough to hang on for a victory.

Jake Delhomme sealed the deal in the 4th quarter with a 10 yard boot leg scamper on 3rd and 10 with 2:00 left in the game, allowing the Panthers to run out the clock since the Redskins were out of timeouts. (Was it just me, or did it seem like it took him 3 hours to run those 10 yards … I didn’t realize he was that slow.)

While I know that I could sit here and nitpick about the inconsistencies of the offense and the lack of a real running game (and the fact that DeAngelo Williams probably screwed me over in my fantasy leagues), I’m going to take this win and enjoy it.

After all, a win’s a win right?

I think they're gonna make it two in a row this weekend.

I hope so — if they lose to Tampa all hell will break loose around Charlotte.
