Charges against Beason to be dropped

Awesome development in the Jon Beason case involving the night-club incident where he allegedly attacked a fellow patron of the club in a “drug-related dispute”.

The Herald, via CSR:

Mecklenburg County prosecutors won’t pursue the criminal charges filed against Carolina Panthers linebacker Jon Beason, his attorney said Friday.

Attorney George Laughrun received a two-page notice that the case was being dismissed, saying that the Mecklenburg County district attorney’s office didn’t find sufficient evidence to continue to the case.

“That was a pretty big vindication of Jon,” Laughrun said.

There is still a pending civil suit in the case, but the good news is Beason won’t face any jail time and will have less to worry about when he prepares to play every week.
