Kemo finds a home in Washington

According to Darin Gantt’s Twitter feed:

Skins bought a lottery ticket. RT @Adam_Schefter Former Panthers DT Ma’ake Kemoeatu signed a two-year, $7 million deal with the Redskins.

I’m happy for Kemo. I hope this works out for him because I was a little bummed when I saw that he was cut without the opportunity to prove he could return from his season ending ACL injury last year. At least now he has the chance to show he has recovered and can still contribute to a team’s defense.

He should do great if Albert Haynesworth can stay healthy and attract all the blockers.

What I find strange is that he hasn’t even fully recovered from his ACL injury yet. They don’t even know if he will play in 2010 or not – they are taking a gamble in signing him, but if he does come back he will be a big help to their defensive line.

And you’re right – playing beside Haynesworth should tremendously increase his value for their defense.
